Respect for the
environment

In order to limit waste as much as possible, the Salon EPHJ uses 99% recyclable carpet. Waste is also 75% recycled, sorted at source and processed by a specialist service provider. It can then be recycled.

Local and responsible catering

Palexpo’s restaurants have been awarded the GRTA (Genève Région – Terre Avenir) label for giving priority to agricultural products from the Geneva region.

Solar and hydraulic
energy

All of Palexpo’s energy consumption is renewable, with 20% supplied by Électricité Vitale Vert of hydraulic and solar origin, an ecological and local energy source. In addition, the roof of Palexpo houses the second largest solar power plant in Switzerland, with 30,000 m2 of photovoltaic panels. This installation currently covers the equivalent of the annual needs of 1,350 households.

More responsible
travel

Palexpo is well served by public transport. Geneva Airport station is a 5-minute walk away, and bus routes 5, 23, 28, 50, 59 and 66 stop close to the exhibition and congress centre. To encourage electromobility, four fast-charging stations (20 kW) for electric vehicles have been installed on level -1 of car park P12.
